The Cheat Code to Travel: How We Ditched Our Timeshare

My family has owned timeshare for as long as I can remember. It was just part of how we traveled. You buy in, you get your weeks, you go on vacation. Simple enough.

Except for the maintenance fees. Year after year, the fees kept coming — whether we traveled or not. Whether we used our weeks or not. It was a financial obligation that never went away.

When we became members of ASN, it was mostly to fill in the gaps. Timeshare doesn't cover everything — flights, hotels outside your home resort, cruises. We figured ASN would handle the rest.

What we didn't expect was that ASN would replace timeshare entirely.

The flexibility is just better. With timeshare, you're locked into specific resorts, specific weeks, specific rules. With ASN, we can go where we want, when we want, and the concierge handles the details. We get access to resort properties that are just as nice — without the annual maintenance fee hanging over our heads.

We got out of our timeshare. We don't miss it.

When my friends ask me how I travel the way I do, I tell them ASN is the cheat code to travel. That's the only way I know how to describe it.
